The principals of VectorC, Rob Frost and Ted Bashor, met as classmates at Stanford University
and started working together as founding members of the Extricity engineering team building
one of the first Java and XML-based B2B workflow products. Most recently both were in the
WebLogic Workshop group at BEA Systems.
Ted and Rob have nearly 30 years of combined experience designing and building software
for application integration, medical informatics, Java EE and
Eclipse projects. Open source work includes contributions
to the Eclipse Web Tools Platform and the
MuleSource Enterprise Service Bus codebases. Having
held leadership roles in almost a dozen commercial and open source product releases, they bring
extensive project and development management experience to technically challenging projects.
Rob and Ted also have long standing experience in the semantics and biomedical informatics domains
extending from graduate school through work on a commercial Bayesian network knowledge base and
diagnostic tool, creation of natural language processing and concept extraction frameworks in the
medical domain (e.g. MediClass),
semantic technology research at BEA Systems to ongoing participation as an invited expert in the
W3C Health Care and Life Sciences Interest Group.
